The selection policy for add.

select?

optional select?: boolean

Selects it the moment it's mounted — ends up in the same state as hand-drawing. Default false.

Why the default is false: add fires even without any user intent (a server push, a batch load on mount). Always selecting would steal a selection the user was editing. Turn it on only where the user just clicked — a side-panel button, say.
