Interface: SeamContext

What the consumer already holds at the seam — the x of the tail a chunk has to continue after (lastX), or of the head it has to end before (firstX). Facts, not rules: the rule is the door's — validateSeriesData answers append/prepend, validateSeriesPoint answers updateLast.
