Psychological Line (PSY) — the share of bars in the window that closed above the bar before them, 0 to 100, and an sma of that as its signal. An unchanged close is not an up-close. The first bar has no predecessor, so it is no observation — where the canonical counts it as a non-up bar. Observable difference: the first PSY lands at index period (canonical: period − 1) and the signal one bar later as well.
